Myth busting: car-free days

There's been a lot of misinformation about car-free days in Canberra following the release of our new ACT Climate Change Strategy. Here are the facts:
✅ There is NO proposal to force people out of their cars on certain days. Or ever.
✅ Instead, a road or a couple of roads would be temporarily closed in a designated area and people will be able to roam more freely within the area.
✅ This isn't new. We already do this at events like Enlighten and the Multicultural Festival.
✅ Car-free days have been successful around the world. Just a few weeks ago, London, Paris and Berlin shut down some roads in their CBDs. See for yourself here.
