New child safety laws

Adults who reasonably believe that a sexual offence has been committed against a child must now make a report to police. Failing to make a report is now an offence. 

Ministers of religion, religious leaders and members of the clergy of a church or religious denomination are mandatory reporters. There is NO exception, including if the information about child sexual abuse is disclosed in a religious confession.

All adults must now report any reasonable beliefs of child sexual abuse
