Rental Bond Help

The ACT Government is committed to making renting in the ACT easier for low-income earners. Under, Rental Bond Help, you may be eligible for interest-free financial help that covers up to 100% of your rental bond.

To be eligible for rental bond help, you must:

  • be at least 16 years of age;
  • enter into a tenancy agreement in the ACT (and intend to reside in that residence for the duration of your tenancy);
  • earn less than $94,000 (individual) or $125,000 (couple); and
  • hold less than $10,000 (individual)or $15,000 (couple) in cash or savings.

If you are eligible, the ACT Government pays the rental bond's lump sum cost straight to the Revenue Office. You can then repay the bond without any interest over a period of your choosing (up to two years).
