A single bulb being out can usually be repaired in five days. A single bulb outage is usually caused by faulty light globes, damage from birds or weather, or condensation causing the streetlights to trip and require a reset.
But if it's multiple bulbs out in a row, it signals something more complex requiring investigation of the cables. With our streetlight cables located underground, this means the fault's location needs to be identified and then approvals need to be obtained to undertake excavation works. These approvals can be required from utility providers but also residents.
Once the fault is located, it can also be complex to repair.
For this reason we've created a webpage which includes known cable faults and where they're up to in terms of repair.
